Celebrating the New Year
Monday, December 28th, 2009Click on the photo below to open it in a new window to see us dance!
We gathered for an updated photo, and those talented artists in our graphics department decided to animate us! What will they think of next!?
And while the year was certainly not all fun and games, it was a big improvement over our performance in 2008 as we all worked harder, watched expenses, and made sure that the company will be strong for many years to come.
Thanks to all of you that were a part of this effort in 2009.
Walt Retires after 38 Years!
Friday, October 23rd, 2009The Rose City Label family came together to say good bye and congratulations to one of its’ most important members. Walt began selling for Rose City Label in 1971, when gas was 36 cents a gallon and Richard Nixon was president!
Walt is joining his dear wife and best friend, Bonnie, who retired from Rose City Label last year after 10 years of selling with the company. In retirement, they plan to travel, play golf, and enjoy the next chapter of their lives together. We all wish them well.
Pet Day at Rose City Label!
Wednesday, July 8th, 2009
Rose City Label has always been a professional workplace, but we also try to be a family and pet friendly environment. We think this balance is what has allowed us to keep such a high quality work force for so many years. Most employees have over 10 years with the company, with many have over 20 years.
So, when Penelope (left) had a hurt paw, it was easy to bring her into the office so her mom (Heidi) wouldn’t have to worry about her at home all day!
Hopefully by keeping this balance between fun, family, and work, we can continue to be strong for the next 81 years.
Thanks to all of you that are a part of the extend Rose City Label Family.
Recycling Old Electronics!
Monday, March 16th, 2009Rose City Label continues to walk the green talk when it comes to reducing our waste. We took advantage of the new free Oregon E-Cycling program which is offered by the DEQ. This great program allows businesses and individuals to recycle old electronics at local Good Will donation sites.
This Goodwill trailer now accepts many types of Computer CPUs and Monitors, as well as TVs, all for free!
Of course all data was wiped from the hard drives by us prior to recycling, so none of our business or customer data was compromised.
Four old CPU Towers and Monitors, as well as a UPS power supply and assorted keyboards and mice were diverted from the landfill on this trip - thanks to Oregon E-Cycles for making it easy to be GREEN!
www.oregonecycles.org has all the details!
Thanks for contniuing to read and to support our efforts to be a more GREEN company!
Happy New Year!

If there is anything we can do for you, or any different type of label you are interested in, please let us know. We would be happy to help with even more of your label needs in the new year.
Thanks again, and best wishes for a Wonderful 2009
Snow Clogs up Portland!
Sunday, December 28th, 2008
The winter storm of 2008 had a big impact on many businesses, including ours! Many days last week we were not open at all because people just couldn’t get to work. And, since many local customers were impacted, our sales efforts were difficult as well.
Thanks to all of you, employees, customers, and suppliers, that have been patient as we worked through this crazy time. Now that the snow is melted, we are looking forward to getting back to normal!
Retirement Party for Bonnie
Saturday, November 22nd, 2008The Rose City Label family turned out with big smiles to recognize a valuable part of our team, Bonnie Ostergard, who is retiring after 13 years of sales. The RCL team, and her wonderful family were on hand to wish her well as she moves on to her next phase of life.

Bonnie made a very memorable speech as she went around the room and told a very insightful story about everyone she had worked with so closely over the years. She was funny, gracious, and very accurate in all of her assessments of the cast of characters assembled to wish her well.
In addition to her co-workers, Bonnie will be missed by her many devoted customers - many of whom ordered early just so Bonnie could get the credit for the order before she departs.
That is a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and love Bonnie put into her customers and our company over the years. Luckily she won’t be totally gone from the family, as her husband Walt will be with us at least another year! Great job Bonnie - you will be missed!
Your friends at RCL will always be thinking of you.
